In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our special guest was Jamar Enzor. Jamar Enzor is a former Linebacker for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats Football, the New York Jets, and the Baltimore Ravens. Enzor was born and raised in Havana Florida, where he also attended and graduated from Havana Northside Highschool. He earned a football scholarship to the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice. This was a great interview, Enzor understands the chances of kids becoming an elite athlete are markedly influenced by where we are born and the opportunities provided for access to sport, a suitable level of competition, as well as training facilities and high-level coaching. While attending Havana Northside Highschool Enzor was a two sports star in Football and Basketball. For all of his talent on the gridiron, basketball was Jamar’s love as well growing up. In 2004 the linebacking trio of Jamar Enzor, Tyjuan Hagler and Jason Russell was the heart of Cincinnati’s defense. His junior season Enzor, MVP of the 2003 UC team and an All-C-USA selection, anchors the unit from his middle linebacker spot. He led the team in tackles last season (137) and seemed to get better as the season progressed he averaged 14.4 tackles, headed the group of senior Linebackers who all started and had graduated before their senior year. Jamar Enzor played for the following teams during his professional career with the New York Jets, Rhein Fire, and Baltimore Ravens.
