Kenneth Gainwell gave Memphis and the College Football World a show in 2019. He was unstoppable. Kenneth had the type of season that many players dream of having one day. He was only a Redshirt Freshman in 2019 which makes his season even more special. The game that put him over the top was the game against Tulane. He ran for 104 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, and 203 yards receiving with 2 receiving touchdowns. He can do it all from running the ball to catching it all over the field. Every week we knew Kenneth Gainwell was going to do something amazing because no matter what a team did to him, they couldn’t truly shut him down for a whole game!
He ran for 100 yards or more for six games straight and a total of 7 game over 100 yards in 2019. Just think he did all of that plus had 51 receptions and 610 yards receiving with 3 receiving touchdowns. It’s wide receivers that wish they could have 51 receptions and he did it as a running back. Head Coach Ryan Sliverfield will continue to get the football to Kenneth every way possible because he’s just that special. Get prepared for an encore in 2020 because Kenneth Gainwell is just that talented.
