In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our special guest was Shane McGough. Shane McGough is the former starting Offensive Lineman(Center) for FIU and now a 2021 NFL DRAFT Prospect. Shane’s Older brother is a former FIU Panther great and now NFL quarterback Alex McGough.
Shane played his Highschool at Gaither in Tampa, Florida.
Earned 2015 All-Hillsborough Honorable Mention recognition at Gaither HS. Named a First-Team All-Western Conference selection in 2015. A three-year varsity letterwinner at Gaither High School under Head Coach Jason Stokes. A two-way player for the Cowboys, seeing action at offensive and defensive tackle. Named a 2014 First-Team All-Western Conference selection and an All-Hillsborough County Honorable Mention honoree. In 2018 with FIU he Appeared in 13 games at right guard, making nine starts. Was part of an offensive line that allowed a school-record low eight sacks all season, which ranked first in Conference USA and third overall in the nation. In 2019 and 2020 Shane played and started in all games. He ended the 2020 year on a great note by being invited to the Hula Bowl All Star game in Hawaii!!
