In this episode of the Life and Football Podcast our special guest is Ellrie Allen Jr. Ellrie Allen is a former Linebacker for FAMU Florida A&M University and Wesley Chapel High School. Allen says that God is the reason for it all. This was an amazing interview with great insight into the Life and Football Journey of Allen. Allen believes that we don’t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges! In this episode Allen talks about his Family, football career, and his childhood growing up in Florida, where he attended Highschool. Allen gives great advice and encouragement for a better tomorrow. Allen understands Football is, a game that brutally tests the minds and bodies of even its strongest players, brings forth many lessons about the importance of perseverance, dedication and hard work. The announcement was delivered in front of the team after a scrimmage. This celebration was part of his post-practice speech. When Allen received his FAMU football scholarship after a practice the following statement was made by FAMU Head Football Coach Willie Simmons “In this program, you get what you deserve. There’s an individual that has overcome a lot of adversity, battled through injuries and done things the right way. Because of that, that guy has deserved the right to not pay his way through school. Let’s hear it for Ellrie Allen,” Simmons said upon breaking the news to the players circled in a huddle. I was at a loss for words. To hear something I’ve wanted to hear ever since I came to FAMU was great,” Allen said.
