Leggett is the owner and operator of the Leggett Speed Academy Leggettspeed.com based in Polk County Florida, but he has online coaching as well. Leggett played Wide Receiver in college football for the University of Miami and for the NFL Cleveland Browns. In HighSchool and College Leggett was a Nationally ranked track performer who gained the confidence needed be a star on the football field. While playing for the Hurricanes Lance admitted that alot of the skill Athletes on the football team ran track in College. Leggett talks about growing up and running track under who he calls one of his best track coaches his dad. Leggett In 2006, was the ACC Outdoor Champion in the 400-hurdles (51.83), and placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (13.79) to earn All-ACC honors…Ran the anchor leg of the 4×100-meter relay that placed third at the 2006 ACC Outdoor Championships. Finished 12th in the 110-meter hurdles (14.03) at the NCAA East Regional. Earned All-ACC honors in both 2006 and 2007 during the indoor season with a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles both years (7.89 in 2006 and UM-record 7.79 in 2007) and ran the opening leg of the 4×400-meter relay that finished fifth in 2006.
