Hatten understands the chances of kids becoming an elite athlete are markedly influenced by where we are born and the opportunities provided for access to sport, a suitable level of competition, as well as training facilities and high-level coaching. Wanting to test the waters at a higher level Hatten left playing on scholarship at Alabama State to play at Dodge City College for chance to play some Division One Football. While playing JUCO Football he earned multiple D1 Football Scholarship offers. He eventually decided to take advantage of a scholarship offer and went on to play football at New Mexico with the Lobos. Hatten was a great Offensive Lineman who had intelligence, toughness, work ethic, good character, and athletic ability.
